'Affirmation Generation’: a new, must watch doco
Detransitioners Michelle, Laura, Cat, David, Joel and Abel tell the stories of their gender distress, transgender medicalization, and subsequent detransition. Without diagnostic clarity or mental health evaluations, their doctors quickly affirmed them as “transgender,” and mindlessly ushered them along the path of medical transition. (The “gender-affirming care” is the only treatment recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics.) These young people were harmed irrevocably by the doctors they trusted. What have women in prison done to deserve this?!
Just how our leaders and their lobbyists have decided that it’s now OK to put some men in women’s prisons is difficult to fathom.
There has been no discussion in societies around the world about modifying the conditions under which women are held in prisons. Numbers have increased steadily for decades in most places because of non-sexist attitudes to sentencing and stricter parole requirements. The crimes women are being incarcerated for has also changed. But the principle of keeping women and men separate in prisons, for the purpose of women’s safety, and sometimes for the safety of their children, has been secure.
But now there’s this case in California, and we should talk about it. It’s special because it’s so horrible. It’s a warning sign that cries out to tell us something. I think we’d better listen.

Bill to Introduce Fictional Birth Certificates Presented to Qld. Parliament
Queensland attorney-general Shannon Fentiman said the bill aims to strengthen legal recognition of trans and gender-diverse Queenslanders. "In developing the bill, we have carefully considered the experiences of LGBTIQ+ stakeholders, the difficulties they face and the recommendations they made in order to get these reforms right. Quite simply—we listened and this bill is the result," she said, in a barefaced fit of obfuscation.
Fentiman has refused to meet with lesbians and women's groups in Queensland to hear their concerns about the proposed legislation.
