Finding Identity

A personal story about the struggles of adolescence and finding a place where you fit.

‘For those experiencing the emptiness of not knowing, of not seeing themselves or finding others to connect with, loneliness can be a strong motivator to latch onto an identity, even if it means silencing parts of yourself.’

The reality of being a lesbian

‘When I came out as a lesbian in the late 1980s and early 1990s I was welcomed into a thriving community of women. That community has helped and supported me through a range of life experiences, especially those experiences of exclusion that were prevalent at that time.’

Déjà Vu: Attending the ‘Let Women Speak’ Rally

‘What’s the collective noun for a group of incels?’

That was what I asked my partner as we hurried away after the Let Women Speak event in Melbourne on 18 March 2023. The organisers had ended the event early. Later, they stated that police had told them the behaviour of the ‘trans rights activists’ made it too dangerous to continue.

How the Pride Flag of Gay and Lesbian Liberation Has Been Corrupted

The original movement of gay and lesbian liberation bares little resemblance to the Rainbow movement of today; a movement of forced teaming and gaslighting with such polarising opinions that many LGB people are shut down, silenced and de-platformed when they try to stand up for the rights of same-sex attracted people.
