Tickle Vs Giggle update

Roxanne Tickle on left and Sall Grover on right

For anyone who has not heard of Sall Grover’s court case that will be heard in Federal Court on 9 April. This is the most significant case about women’s rights - ever. What’s at stake is our rights that have been stolen from us over the last 20 years, including;

· The rights of lesbians to hold public events that are women-only.

· The rights of girls and women to fair sport.

· The rights of women in prisons, hospitals and shelters to be physically and psychologically safe from men.

Sall Grover will be in Federal court on test the boundaries of the Sex Discrimination Act as it relates to CEDAW. [Convention on the Elimination of all forms of Discrimination against Women].

Sall Grover is being sued by Roxanne Tickle, a biological male who identifies as a woman and alleges that he was discriminated against him when he was refused the right to join the female-only app Giggle for Girls.

While Sall Grover has had to raise every single dollar for her legal defence, Roxanne Tickle was given $50,000 of taxpayer funds for his case alongwith the support of the Australian Human Rights Commission who are acting as amicus curiae, or a ‘friend to the court’ on his behalf. You couldn’t make this up. Here is the AHRC submission.

Sall Grover’s case is yet another attempt by the legislature to take away women’s rights and freedoms. If a woman is simply anyone who proclaims themselves to be a woman then women as a distinct sexed class cease to exist.

Sall Grover is standing up for every woman and every girl, everywhere.

Sall Grover said, “There isn’t a woman in the world who’d have to take me to court to use this woman only space. It takes a man for this case to exist”.

Most crowdfunding sites kicked Sall Grover off their platforms (just think about that) but Give Send Go provided her with a platform to raise money for her legal fees. Please consider donating to Gigglecrowdfund to show the depth of support for Sall in our community.

We will be following the case and will bring you an update in May.
